LIKE AN ABRAMS TANK – VFIND TARGETS ALL THREATS WITH PATTERN AUTHORITY
Pattern Authority offers an OEM the fastest parallel scanning technology for analyzing data patterns with extremely flexible licensing agreements.
CyberSoft has been gearing up for months to support security software developers and their mission to help IT departments consolidate data scanning. The goal of this initiative is to help developers streamline efforts by combining the strength of 5 threat specific engines down to one. Pattern Authority has been developed with our core VFind technology as its foundation. It is designed to easily integrate into existing products that scan for virus threats, spam, spyware or compliance. Essentially, it will properly scan data that passes through it for threat signals or other unwanted data.
As IT departments consolidate all of their traffic scanning to one appliance, CyberSoft is taking it one step further. Don’t just consolidate it to one box, consolidate it to one engine. This becomes easier to support, easier to maintain and easier to configure. As a form of protection, no other engine can perform these tasks. This is made evident by the need for major AV companies investing hundreds of millions of dollars to acquire a separate engine for scanning spam to compliment their AV solution.
Currently, enterprise OEM’s license more than one threat specific engine to protect networks at the gateway. This means that to defend against a virus they license one engine, and to prevent against spam they license or develop a completely separate engine. Increasing the cost of security by licensing multiple engines has burdened IT departments over the past couple of years. Additionally, the licensing structure for an engine varies and could cost hundreds of thousands of dollars for the vendor to protect one customer.
CyberSoft has recognized this burden, and has dedicated resources to helping minimize costs to vendors in order to ease the burden of securing the perimeter of a network. With the release of Pattern Authority, an OEM can consolidate all of their scanning engines down to one engine. OEM’s can rely on 15 years of development to limit the amount of development resource needed to maintain the core of their appliance. To help make it easier for an OEM to maintain, CyberSoft offers complete usage of its CVDL for an OEM to create and maintain a definition set. As CyberSoft continues to develop Virus and Spam definitions, OEM’s can add value by creating definitions for additional threats such as spyware, compliance or additional spam. Additionally, Pattern Authority has a very flexible OEM license program to find the best and most cost effective way for a CyberSoft partner to protect its customers. CyberSoft offers contracts that will guarantee pricing for multiple years so OEM’s can better fix their costs when developing security solutions.
