Final Notice: CyberSoft's NEW VDL System Goes Live September 1st!
The CyberSoft VDL Update System will become more helpful to you than just providing up-to-date virus protection. To take advantage of our new VDL System and to keep receiving VDL Updates, make sure to visit http://update.cybersoft.com/signup.php and sign up for your account BEFORE SEPTEMBER 1ST.
FAQs
Q: Can a customer who does not sign up download new VDLs on http://update.cybersoft.com?
A: No, customers who do not sign up will no longer be able to access VDL updates starting September 1st.
Q: Can a customer with an expired Maintenance & Support contract download new VDLs on http://update.cybersoft.com?
A: No, customers with an expired Maintenance & Support contract will not be able to access VDL updates until the Maintenance & Support contract is brought up-to-date.
Q: Does a customer only use the UserID and Password to log in to http://update.cybersoft.com?
A: No, the customer will use them both to log in to the web site and in our auto-update script.
Q: After a customer has signed up, does he need to update or replace "vdlupdate"?
A: Yes, the customer will have to edit vdlupdate. Currently, there is a generic Username and Password in that auto-update script. We will provide everyone with easy-to-follow instructions on how to do this. Once a user has signed up and edited vdlupdate, there will be nothing else to do.
HOW TO UPDATE THE VDLUPDATE SCRIPT: The vdlupdate script can be found in the bin directory in your VSTK home directory. You must edit vdlupate to refer to your unique Userid/Password which authorizes your access to the updates.
At line 50 of the vdlupdate script is the statement shown below. This line number may vary, depending on what version of VSTK/P you are running.
WGET="${VSTK_HOME}/programs/wget --http-user=AZ19PRBKB --http- passwd=*BZ!3NB8"
You must replace this line with the following, replacing the default user-id/password with your unique userid/password:
WGET="${VSTK_HOME}/programs/wget --http-user=yourname --http- passwd=yourpass"
Once this script has been edited you will not need to make any further changes to keep receiving VDL updates.

EASY-TO-FIND SUPPORT DATE: An important part of keeping your company protected is making sure that your maintenance contract is up-to-date. The new VDL Update System will show not only the date when your maintenance is due, but how much longer you have in days and months to help you plan future budgetary needs.
HELPING MAKE SURE YOUR PROTECTION IS UP-TO-DATE: The new VDL Update System will show you the last time you updated your VDLs, making it easy to know if your protection is up-to-date.
KEEPING VSTK/P, VSTK-OEM AND SIE UP-TO-DATE: The second part of keeping your company safe is making sure you are running the latest version of our software. A link to the latest version will be located on your personalized login page. Once downloaded and installed, you will receive the best protection CyberSoft offers. Plus, you will no longer need to fill out a Download Form to get the latest product upgrade.
EASY-TO-FIND HELP: Your new personalized VDL Update page will have convenient links to the latest training manuals and white papers. By learning more about our products you will be better able to protect your organization. In addition, we will provide you with easy-to-find links to FAQs, information about our other products and a link to our On-line Help Ticket.
