Why Should I Upgrade to Turbo Again?
A word about Turbo (Part 2) - Adding Performance with the Turbo Upgrade
VFind™'s performance when scanning large amounts of files is unsurpassed, but this performance doesn't come for free. As you may have noticed, VFind™; needs a fair amount of time to prepare itself and get ready before it actually starts to scan anything. For your nightly scan of many thousands of files, this doesn't matter much, but for some applications, you're more interested in scanning a single file with the least amount of latency. This is what Turbo gives you. With the Turbo upgrade, you get a server process (vfindd), which only needs to be started once. You also get a fast-starting client application, (vfindc) which of course is drop-in compatible with any of our VFind Security Toolkit Family and SafeInternetEmail products. With this setup, you can scan a single file in a fraction of a second.
In addition to the client-server setup for VFind™, the Turbo upgrade also lets you connect your own applications directly to the VFind™ server, using SVSP (Simpla Virus Scanning Protocol). This opens a whole new world of possibilities. To demonstrate what you can do as a part of VSTK Turbo, VSTK/P Turbo, and VSTK/E Turbo version 173, we will be distributing a small script that turns the VFind™ server into a virus-scanning web proxy, just as an example of the added value you get when you select the Turbo upgrade to any of our Turbo family of products.
